01. That vision board is beginning to give you the side-eye and your Pinterest boards are overflowing.

That’s right, You know who you are… Out there manifesting your dreams; Scrolling through your saves with so much adoration that your children are starting to get jealous. Ha! Don’t worry, no judgment. We love a good vibe board over here!

02. All of those great ideas have found their way onto a priority list - Perhaps the concept images are only few but the wish list is continuously growing.

Sound familiar? Many of my initial connection calls or consultations unearth experiences that individuals have had while traveling and a desire to recreate that feeling somehow. Others will have compiled a list of what’s not working for them or describe a void that they are feeling in their life and their home.

03. Your friends and family are tired of hearing you say “when we finally remodel” or “once we design our new home”...

When you are ready to put those dreams to work, you will know. It may be that your current living conditions are feeling tight or that the perfect lot becomes available in that new community you have had your eye on.

04. You are done “thinking about it” and have hired an architect or general contractor.

No matter if your project is a remodel or brand new construction, establishing your project team early will allow for the best synergy and your project will benefit greatly. Something I hear often is “I wish I would have found you sooner” or “I wish I would have hired a designer”, these remarks are usually accompanied by a story or two explaining how they were talked into something, they cut a corner and regret it, or wished they would have proceeded differently in some other way. There are small things such as a paint color they didn’t like in a single room but there are also the unfortunate stories of money lost and needing to spend additional funds to correct ‘it’.

05. You have a budget and timeframe in mind.

“When do you want to start? Or more importantly, when do you want this completed?” These will honestly be about the first words spoken between you and your ideal team. When engaging a design professional, a contractor, or an architect - having these expectations clear from the start helps align the team so that everyone can work together toward the end goal. We work backwards from that completion date and start to build the project road map, and identify  milestones. These milestones will allow the project to stay on track to meet and hopefully exceed expectations.
